We ended up here by accident, as a 3rd choice after other places were closed, but that worked in our favor, because this was an absolutely incredible breakfast! I got the crab cakes Benedict with hash browns, and WOW so good and so much flavor and just so delicious. I’m not normally one to say things like, “This is too much food,” but it actually WAS too much food and I couldn’t finish it, no matter how much I wanted to! My husband got the traditional breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns, and he loved his as well. I’d also say prices were fair for the amount of food you get, which is definitely not always the case in this part of the city in particular.

Absolutely delicious! In town for a conference and decided to venture out. It was definitely worth it. Best meal we’ve had on the trip so far and this is our 3rd day here. I’m a breakfast person so this was excellent 👌

Mother’s Restaurant

This was a great restaurant. I spent two days looking for a regular place to eat that wasn’t over the top commercialized, over priced or geared towards the experience versus the food. Mother’s is located just off the French Quarters but an easy walk from there. Their food was very good. They had a great selection of the traditional local food and the price was fair. We were able to get to plates for around $30. The dining area was really basic but comfortable enough to enjoy the meal. The staff was very helpful since I have never had creole food before and the staff was happy to help explain and show pics of their food. Also, the food was very good. The gumbo and jambalaya was the best we’ve tried so far. As you walk in they hand you a menu and you continue to the register to order your food. You order and they hand you your receipt and someone comes by and picks that up and brings your food right to you. Very simple and enjoyable.

Best biscuit on the planet covered in butter, split and buttered and served with butter! Everything is old school yum. Coffee was good and hot. Food and service awesome. It was great to see and all woman run kitchen headed up by Miss Jean. There is a line up usually but it’s really quick.

Linda and her team are AMAZING!! We had the most beautiful wedding at Swoops! Chef Lisa created a delicious menu tailored to our needs. Linda went above and beyond to give us the wedding we envisioned. Linda also took our photos, and they are gorgeous! The venu is gorgeous and has that classic NOLA vibe. I cannot recommend Swoops enough. We tell everyone what a truly amazing experience we had with Linda and Chef Lisa.

Amazing place! Definitely worth eating at. The bottomless mimosas were tasty – the champagne is really strong. The atmosphere is both cozy and sophisticated, and the wait staff were friendly and fun. Musicians came to our table to play for us – even took requests. Word of caution – MAKE A RESERVATION. They rarely have open tables and will often turn people away. Book way ahead of time as seats fill up FAST.
